Radio 2 woke me this morning with a trailer for a new History of Rock n' Roll series.  It mentioned Bill Haley's "Rock around the Clock" and claims it was the first rock n' roll song heard by Lennon and McCartney and is important for that fact alone because it inspired the duo to pick up guitars.
